The academic program at Barachel Christian Academy places an emphasis on every aspect of student growth and development, while meeting state requirements. AEE ONLINE NSC (IEB) FAQS

1. What is an NSC? • The National Senior Certificate (NSC) also known as a “Matric” has been offered since          2008.

• Umalusi issues the NSC, however there are currently three assessment bodies which facilitate the                      completion of the NSC, namely the DBE, IEB and SACAI.

• Our students are registered with the IEB (Independent Examinations Board).

2. Why choose the IEB?

• The IEB has been accredited by Umalusi for the National Senior Certificate.

• It has been assessing the NSC since 2008 (prior to that called the JMB established in 1988).

• The IEB is at the forefront of innovations in terms of improvement of examination systems and processes.

• The IEB ensures that it keeps abreast with developments in assessment by actively participating in                   regional and international assessment associations.

• The qualifications assessed by the IEB enjoy international recognition.

• In 2018 approximately 12 000 full-time and 1 000 part-time candidates have been registered with the IEB       to write at 250 examination venues.

• The IEB, through their assessments, are motivated to develop learners who are:

*  critical users of information

*  ethical reasoners

*  problem solvers

*  creative and reflective thinkers  

*  lifelong learners

*  respectful of diversity, particularly in the Southern African context

3. Why choose the IEB online through AEE Online in partnership with Hatfield Christian Online School?

•   Hatfield Christian Online School have been operating since 2009.

• They have been an IEB-registered examination centre since 2012.

• They have had 100% matric pass rate since 2012.

• And 100% bachelor degree passes in the last two years.

* To be responsible for AEE Online Academic Support

* To ensure that the AEE associated school supervisor provides academic support to the students and                  performs his/her required duties and responsibilities.
